They’re Really Adding Up!

The new courses just keep coming, and they’re really adding up! We now have over 160 courses on SchoolhouseTeachers.com. Two of our newest are Beginning Handwriting and Hands-On Math Help with Cuisenaire Rods. Beginning Handwriting is a 27-week course for children in preschool and kindergarten. Annette Breedlove provides three printable lessons each week in one download that explores foundational skills important for young learners. The class covers topics such as pencil grip, prewriting skills, letter formation, and tips and tricks for remembering which letter is which. Hands-On Math Help with Cuisenaire Rods is taught by Philip Rowlands. His goal is to empower parents to help their children learn. The purpose of the course is to help parents of students in preschool-3rd grade make math enjoyable instead of frustrating. Through a free app and weekly tutorial videos, Mr. Rowlands will show you how to teach math in a manner that involves play, directed activities, open-ended tasks, and challenges. Don’t worry if you don’t have Cuisenaire rods; there are instructions for making your own.
