This Week at SchoolhouseTeachers ~ Art Techniques

/ / Blog

Bring a group of colorful creatures to life on your drawing paper this month with Brenda Ellis’ new lesson on creating a drawing with colored pencils. For this month’s focus, Brenda chose a group of fish she photographed at a local pet store. Brenda will walk you through the steps of selecting the subject for your artwork and deciding how to compose the picture in order to highlight your subject. Next, you’ll begin your drawing by drawing the initial lines with a graphite pencil. After that, you’ll add color, layer color, and add sharp edges, resulting in your own unique piece of art!
