This Week at SchoolhouseTeachers ~ What’s New in Social Justice and Literature
Obstacles, challenges, and finding a way through—that is the focus of both our Social Justice course and this month’s Literature unit. As Kurt Hoffman prepares to conclude his four-month course on the factors that contribute to the crisis of slavery that is impacting virtually every country on Earth, he looks at where changes start—in ourselves. How can we affirm our own dignity and the dignity of others? And how can changing ourselves naturally lead to changing the world, using the unique talents God has given us? Join Kurt for the final weeks of his course and consider all you have learned and discovered—about yourself and the world around you. (Kurt’s lessons will remain archived on the site for future use and review.)
Adam Andrews’ Literature unit this month explores the book The Door in the Wall by Marguerite de Angeli. Join him as he leads us through Robin’s journey to true knighthood as he struggles against his handicap, overcomes dangerous obstacles, and learns that “Thou hast only to follow the wall long enough and there will be a door in it.”
