Video with a Purpose
We are inundated with negative images and less-than-wholesome videos on television, our computers, and on our phones. Christians have a responsibility to be involved in this sector of entertainment. Students in high school and middle school can join Evonne Mandella in Experience Videomaking and begin to learn how to use video to share their faith. In 18 lessons, Evonne instructs students how to find free video software, images, and music; how to create video gifts, resumes, and tutorials; and how to create a movie trailer. Most importantly, she teaches them how to share their faith in their videos. Wouldn’t it have been great to have video during the time of Paul? We could have followed him along on his missionary journeys. Since we don’t have any video, we’ll have to learn through Classical Archaeology. Through Regan Barr’s first-hand experience of the regions he discusses and his own personal photographs, middle school, high school, and upper elementary students will learn about the riot in Ephesus, moving coastlines, the original Olympics, Pompeii, and inspiring architecture such as the Parthenon and the Pantheon.
