Well Read
What do you do with a kinetic learner who still has to read? You join Marla Schultz in Literature Kits and Niki Coburn McNeil in Lapbooking. Both of these classes are found under the Pre-K/Elem and Middle/High School tabs. Literature Kits, a class for Pre-K through middle school, has joined forces with Adam Andrews’ Literature class as he goes through The Chronicles of Narnia series. Marla goes beyond discussion questions and provides students with an experience. They can cook, draw, write, and more as they go beyond the book and study animals, history, nature, health, and the Bible as they relate to the chosen selection. Lapbooking is a class that children of all ages can enjoy. If you’ve never made a lapbook, Niki provides basic instructions to get you started. Students can then read the story and download the activities and templates to fill their lapbook with mini-books, maps, flap books, tab books, and news pockets. These make great keepsakes, and students can go back to them to remember what they read.
