What Are You Feeding Your Family?
What goes into our bodies often determines what comes out of our bodies, be it energy and endurance or language and attitude. Follow along with Jennifer Needham in Family Nutrition under the Family/For Parents tab. This 14-week course for the whole family will teach you how to eat healthier, how our culture affects our food choices, and where to obtain reliable nutrition information. Jennifer talks about organic foods, food allergies and intolerances, and specific nutrients. As you learn about these things, you will also learn how these choices affect your body and the available energy and endurance you’ll have for your daily tasks. Our Media Socialization course with Lisa Dunne encourages middle and high school students to consider what they’re allowing in through their eyes and ears. In 19 weeks, Lisa examines the effect that media plays in our lives, helps students to become more media literate, teaches them how to become producers and not just consumers, and encourages them to reflect on the power of words and wisdom. Lisa uses written instruction, reading assignments, videos, external websites, reflection activities, and tests. These two classes will help students to be more aware of what goes into their bodies so that what comes out is wholesome and beneficial to all.
