What Do You Have in Common?

/ / Blog, Schoolhouse Teachers

Learning another language is a great way to discover another culture and find out what you have in common with children from other countries. SchoolhouseTeachers.com has a number of different language courses available to members. Some of them are currently active, and others are complete but fully accessible. One of these courses is French with Greg Shone. He has provided beautiful and engaging worksheets along with interactive review units. Carol Henderson completed her Spanish class in May, but all of the lessons are accessible. She has a video for each lesson so that students can learn how to pronounce the words and then can complete worksheets that she has prepared. ASL Adventure with Sandra Heflin is a great way to learn a language used by the Deaf Community in this country. Not only does she teach the language, she provides an introduction to this community. During the month of June—the final month of this course—Sandra teaches the signs for various adjectives, emotions, verbs, and classifiers. Wouldn’t it be great to be able to communicate with folks from different cultures?
