What’s New on SchoolhouseTeachers.com in Art
Studio Art for Teens with Sharon Jeffus is back! She begins her new series by analyzing the work of two famous American seascape artists: Winslow Homer and Washington Alston. She’ll study the lighting and the lines they used and get you started creating a seascape of your very own.
Brenda Ellis shows us how to practice tonal techniques in pencil drawing in her Art Techniques class this month. Using an example of a knight jousting at a Renaissance Festival, she’s shown us how to draw the basic shapes, add a neutral ground to the subject, add dark values and blend with a paper stump, and add highlights and clean up the edges with a kneaded eraser. Join Brenda and watch your skills improve from week to week as you practice the skills you learn.
