When Credit is a Good Thing

/ / Blog, Schoolhouse Teachers

Many of the high school classes on SchoolhouseTeachers.com contain enough information and activities for students to receive a semester or a full year’s worth of credit. Simply look for the gray academic credit box that surrounds the red, informational box on the introductory page for each class. At the bottom of that page, there is also an explanation of how to count the class for credit. The classes for which academic credit is currently available are: biology, botany, chemistry, classical archaeology, computer science, geology, mock trial, photography, play production, pre-algebra, public speaking, statistics, studio art for teens, and writing with Janice Campbell. As the credits are stacking up, your high schooler should be learning how to write a good college essay. Having the knowledge and skills for this part of the journey will help students to increase their confidence. Join Sharon Watson in her Writing – College Essay course. Just two lessons will provide a wealth of information to aid students in writing an appropriate essay. Sharon discusses what admission counselors are looking for in that essay and things you should and shouldn’t do.
