blog when the language

Sometimes we need help with English, whether it’s modern English or old English. Two of the courses on SchoolhouseTeachers.com will help with those challenges. ESL Language Arts is a new course, taught by Kati Butler, for the entire family who speaks English as a second language. It is designed as an introduction to grammar. Each of the 32 weeks will include a new lesson and an answer key. Lessons will be broken down into the background of the principle being studied, guided practice, independent practice, and extension exercises. Simply Shakespeare, taught by RachelAnn Rogish, will help students understand the language of Shakespeare. More than a dozen self-contained printable units are available on plays such as A Midsummer’s Night Dream, King Lear, Romeo and Juliet, The Tempest, and Two Gentlemen of Verona. Students in elementary through high school can study and perform the plays of Shakespeare in their own home, as they are exposed to the background of the plays of Shakespeare and provided with discussion prompts to help them understand the characters, motives, etc. There are also in-depth discussion questions to help students look at the plays of Shakespeare from a Biblical point of view and a behind-the-scenes look at the vocabulary used in the plays of Shakespeare.
