Zoologists and Entomologists Unite!
There is a place where you all can learn about the creatures you love—SchoolhouseTeachers.com. Two of our newest courses are Animal Science with Sonya Brouillette and Bug Science with Rosemary Pagano. Animal Science is a full-year course for middle school and high school, while Bug Science is a 14-week course designed like a unit study for children in Pre-K through the elementary grades. Sonya discusses animals in detail, including their classification, habitats, behavior, digestive systems and dietary needs, and how to care for them should you happen to own any of the animals she discusses. She is spending the month of October teaching about farm animals—pigs, dairy cows, chickens, and beef cattle. Weekly lessons are provided for high school students wishing to obtain credit for this course, as well as a “Going Beyond” section and an answer key for the worksheets. In Bug Science, Rosemary brings to life Robin Bird (“worm whisperer”) who teaches young students, in a humorous and engaging way, all about bugs. Begin your study by learning about worms.
